We are ceasing playing, though we'll still be around in spirit *grins* if you need us.

Thank you for letting us glimpse your lives and playing with us.

I am finding myself in a bit of a connundrum.

It's Sarah Jane's birthday on the 25th, and I still don't know what to get her.

I won't want to get her something standard like perfume or soap or anything like that but I have no clue what to get her. She seems to have everything she needs and wants. I've asked K-9, but he just tell me that "Mistress is not in need of anything"

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Ladies, Gentlemen

I have the pleasure of announcing the forthcoming engagement of

Sarah Jane Smith
To
Harold Sullivan

As per yesterday.

We will be deciding further wedding details in the near future - and of course be consulting our friends where possible and reasonable.

We will also both be residing at my address in the near future.

Needless to say, I am more than happy - I am overjoyed!

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 4-7 sentences on your LJ along with these instructions.
5. Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest (unless it's too troublesome to reach and is really heavy. Then go back to step 1).
6. Tag five people.

I'm not tagging anyone but....

mcirowave garlic on high 30 seconds, and the press cloves with the flat side of the kinfe to remove skin. Mash, garlic with fork in a large bowl. Add boiling water, sour cream, liquid margarine, salt and instant mash potatoes and stir. Cover and let stand 30 seconds. Whip with fork and serve

I can't ask someone else to cook for me if i'm not prepared to learn how to.

the good captain Jack Smith? Harkness? Sarah Jane tells me its Harkness, but habits are hard to break. He was by visiting again. a six month checkup, he says.

He wants me to get another checkup. I had almost hoped i could get him to use one of his favours that way, but Sarah Jane took his side..and what could I do but cede the argument? I've called Adam. That said, i'm not going to worry about htis too much. After all, the meds will have worked. And the headaches haven't got any worse since christmas. No where near last nov.

And the rest..the rest is inmaterial.

at the risk of sounding like an overexcited school-boy...Sarah Jane kissed me. And I kissed her back. And we both enjoyed it.

I honestly thought we were going to end up in a big fight, but we didn't. Not nearly as big as I thought. I assume we still will at some point, but ...I have hope we can work it out. She said there were things she regretted not doing and she kissed me. She can be very direct and forward, and I for one am glad of it.

I think we spent half the afternoon just doing that. I wonder if she's free again this evening?s

Sarah Jane and myself are back.

We are both safe, though a little bruised and battered.

She will be recovering at home and I will be in at work tomorrow, as I was today.

Thank you Adam, Megabyte, for taking care of Sammie.

Thank you, all of you, for coming after us.

I need to go away briefly

Adam, Megabyte, can I rely on you to look after Sammie? She has food in the fridge (opened can) and more in the pantry under the stairs. She likes and trusts both of you too.

For all four of you: I need to be away for a few days. I haven't figured out how to time lock the rest of this post, or any post, nor how to get it to appear in teh future...so if I'm not back in three days, please click on the link and follow the instructions:

in five minutes my last double shift for 14 days straight ends.

I have four days off.

I'm going home and sleeping then.

Adam, I will have my pager.

Trowa, Quatre, Kevin, if those coughs aren't any better call me and I'll stop by.

I'm also going to go and see if I can find Sarah Jane tomorrow.

My apologies for not being online more, but the window in my office is broken and thus working there is very cold and unpleasant.

Adding to this, we have one resident off at a conference for two weeks, and an intern come down with an dose of appendicitis. I'm doing double shifts for the next two weeks, unless I can find someone to fill in.

Doctors have removed a bullet from the heart of a Vietnamese soldier 39 years after he was shot by US troops.
Le Dinh Hung, 60, is said to be recovering well after surgery in Hanoi to remove the 2.5cm (1 inch) bullet and replace a damaged heart valve.
Dr Nguyen Sinh Hien said it was the strangest case he had ever seen, while Mr Hung said he was "lucky to survive".
The former communist soldier was shot during a battle in Quang Tri province in 1968, during the Vietnam War.
Dr Hien added: "Normally a person with a bullet in his heart would die immediately if they didn't have surgery right away."
The operation lasted three hours and afterwards Mr Hung said the constant pain he had lived with for nearly four decades had eased.
He said: "I was very lucky to survive. People believe in their fate and I do too."
His daughter, Le Thi Mai, 33, visited her father in hospital on Sunday, and said: "The operation was even more successful than we had expected. When I spoke to him, he was very happy."
A year after Mr Hung was shot, doctors tried unsuccessfully to remove the bullet, which had entered his body through his stomach.
Doctors said the retired father-of-three would spend the next few days resting in the Hanoi Heart Hospital, before returning to his home in Ha Tay province.

Leave a comment and I'll give you a letter; then you have to list 10 things you like starting with that letter. Post them in your journal and give out new letters to your commenters in turn.

s.
Sammie - the best dog a man could have.
Sarah Jane - One of the best journalists in the business
Sugar- good in tea
Savlon - from a time when a scratch could kill
Sound of silence - after a long day
Sanity - very nice to have, once in a while
Sailors - the best branch of the armed forces
Second-best - still better than not ranking
Soup -the perfect come home meal. I just wish I could make it
Shakespeare - widely regarded as a classic, I've still notmade my way through his works. I like hearing it quoted though.

I've called Sarah Jane this week. She wasn't in. I wonder where she is?

Sammie is getting to be quite a reasonably sized dog, for her type. She's also looking gorgeous as ever and is learning her tricks well. I must remember to check on therapy dog training though.

Hospital has been busy. I'm tired. Time for bed.

Must remember to thank Megabyte for the home internet connection. Must remember I have it and use it more often.

Adam,

I have told your fan club that if they appear again I will have each and every one of them committed for psychiatric evaluation. As it is I am writing letters to their parents (as they kindly registered their details during their many visits) explaining my concerns regarding this.

Hopefully this should alleviate the problems you are having with them and lessen your workload.

Oh, and Sammie is coming along nicely in her therapy training -she's coming in tomorrow. I think she might appreciate a visit from her favoritest human - and if you have a few moments, I would like to talk through what I've missed in the last few weeks?

Harry
